Extraction Aftercare Instructions
Having a tooth removed involves delicate oral tissue healing. Catherine Barry and our clinical team provide thorough, step-by-step guidance to ensure your recovery is fast, comfortable, and free from complications.
Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours. The suction and chemicals can dislodge the vital protective blood clot and cause a painful dry socket.
After the first 24 hours have passed, gently rinse your mouth with a cup of warm water mixed with half a teaspoon of salt, particularly after eating, to cleanse the healing area.
Stick to cool or lukewarm soft foods like soups, yoghurts, and pasta. Avoid very hot, spicy, or crunchy foods, and do not drink through a straw.
PRSI Dental Benefit & Med 2 Tax Relief
